Making arts and crafts for spring

Spring is a time for rebirth. From baby animals to budding blossoms, ideas and inspiration are everywhere. All you need are some craft materials and glue and you’re ready to get started with arts and crafts for spring.

Choosing the right glue for easy spring crafts

Whether you choose to keep it simple with origami or you opt to make something more extravagant, you will most likely need some glue to hold your spring arts and crafts together.

If you only need to add small amounts of glue (for example, gluing spring flower crafts onto your handmade cards) you can use Loctite Super Glue Creative Pen. Thanks to its pen applicator, this super glue is super easy to use and can be applied precisely.

Loctite Super Glue Liquid Brush-On is another great choice, especially if you need to apply glue to larger areas. Its brush applicator will help you to apply the super glue precisely where you need it.

How to make spring flower crafts

1. Get ready. Clear the area and cover your work surface with a plastic sheet or some newspaper.

2. Gather your materials. You’ll need: plain coffee filters (or pieces of kitchen paper), watercolour paints or food colouring in different colours, water, scissors, a plastic tray, a pipette, super glue, and a couple of pipe cleaners.

3. Layer the filters. Flatten them down and lay two on top of each other. Fold the filters in half a couple of times until the filters make a thin arrow shape.

4. Cut out the petals. Cut into the filters in an arch shape to around 1/3 of the way down. Then open up the filters again and continue to cut the petal shape down to about 2/3 of the way down towards the middle.

5. Add some colour. Put the filters on a plastic tray and use the pipette to apply watercolour paint or food colouring to your petals. Once you’ve finished, put your flowers onto another plastic tray and leave them to dry.

6. Unfold the filters and create a flower shape. Once the flowers are dry, separate the filters carefully. Pick one flower up, peel the petals apart and twist it at the bottom. Then add another filter behind it and twist in the same place. When you’re happy with the shape of your flower, use Loctite Super Glue Liquid Brush-On to glue the separate pieces together at the base.

7. Add a stem. Now you can simply dab some glue on a pipe cleaner and glue it to the bottom as a stem.

Repeat this process to make as many spring flowers as you want!
