The side mirror on your car is broken and it’s time for a trip to the mechanic? Not necessarily! With the right car mirror glue you can carry out small repairs on your own. Our guide to choosing and using the best glue for car side mirrors will make it even simpler.
Here’s how to remove a broken side mirror and install the replacement using car mirror glue:
- Remove the old car mirror. Use a heat gun to soften the old adhesive, then gently remove the glass with a flat-headed screwdriver.
- Clean and dry the plastic backing.
- Apply the car mirror glue to the back of the mirror, about half an inch from the edge. Then install the new mirror, pressing it firmly into place. Remove any excess glue with a damp cloth.
- Keep the mirror in place while curing. Use masking tape to keep the mirror secured until the glue has cured. Check the manufacturer’s instructions for the cure time.
